Pandemic policy is full of contradictions
T’is a sad and tragic commentary on our time. You would think public health officials and some more enlightened policy makers would get the message.
Fall is approaching – less sun in these more northern climes. Less vitamin D.
But this is one of many contradictions of this crazy so called pandemic (over 99% recovery).
The Government of Canada is ignoring good health by not promoting vitamin D, a known cheap, effective treatment to boost immunity and prevent serious disease like covid 19 while announcing the building of multi-million-dollar plants ($176 million in Montreal, $173 million in Quebec City, to name just two) to produce vaccines, all of which have no medium- or long-term studies for complications – tens of thousands already dead and more than million injured from such vaccines.
Some day, there will be a reckoning about such things and it will not be pretty.
Meanwhile numerous studies exist on the benefits of Vitamin D in fighting covid 19.
Vitamin D3 supports and improves the immune system’s response to infections.
A Spanish randomized controlled trial found a 96% reduction in the risk of requiring intensive care in patients receiving high-dose vitamin D (100,000 IU).
Another randomized trial in Spain with 930 hospitalized patients found a reduction in ICU treatment of 80% and in mortality of 60% in patients receiving high-dose vitamin D.
A study in a French nursing home found an 89% decrease in mortality in residents who had received high-dose vitamin D either shortly before or during covid-19 disease.
A retrospective British study of approximately 1,000 hospitalized covid patients found an 80% reduction in mortality with high-dose vitamin D.
A large Israeli study found a strong link between vitamin D deficiency and covid-19 severity.
Medical literature shows:
There have been 101 studies involving 875 scientists.
There have been 68 sufficiency trials involving 34,863 patients.
There have been 33 treatment trials involving 46,360 patients.
Improvement in fighting disease and preventing hospitalizations etc have been shown in these studies by using Vitamin D.
Some people wonder why so many conspiracy theories exist – well when governments are promoting (and with billions of dollars over all) vaccines that have not completed all clinical trails, when the developers of the vaccines have immunity if anything goes wrong, and have already made billions of dollars off the vaccines, while at the same time remaining silent on the benefits of a cheap effective vitamin like vitamin D should there be any wonder that a speculation exists that Governments and the Pharmaceutical companies are colluding?

It's easy for politicians, they can spend what they want because somebody else will pay for it – the taxpayers.
Well done Merv & Marg
Nanaimo is still a good place, but the powers that be have let it run to ruin. This is sad to see.
i agree it is the volunteers in Nanaimo that make it such a wonderful place to live. I've lived all over B. C. and came back to Nanaimo to raise my kids and join the family business. Never any regret
Thank you Mr. Peckford for voicing concerns that many Canadians share, but remain silent.
