Freedom has died in British Columbia
Rome had its triumvirate—the first being Julius Caesar, Pompeius Magnus, and Marcus Crassus.
British Columbia has its first – Horgan, Henry and Dix.
These three rule; democracy be damned, legislature be damned. These three issue edicts from on high of course, if thought necessary, a Cabinet stamp.
But the legislature – the “People's house"? Forget it.
And so it’s has come to pass that the citizens of this Province are to be subjected to limits on their freedom by the issuance of a vaccine passport, called a vaccine card, dividing people along health lines. Well, just for the so called Covid lines, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
Certain people will be prevented from participating in normal life if they do not have a special vaccine card. Flying in the face of our Constitution, these three proceed willy nilly to suppress our freedoms.
The Charter of Rights and Freedoms says we have :
Freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association – Section 2 c) and (d)
The Charter says we have the right to movement in Section 6 (2) (a) and (b)
And let me quote our legal rights in Section 7: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.
And Section 12: Everyone has the right not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment or punishment. Our rights and freedoms are being cast aside without even a debate in our Legislature!!
And what for? For an exaggerated heath issue! The province has a 99.97% survival rate. Deaths from age 1 to 39 –20– alleged from Covid. And we know death certificates often show ‘from Covid ‘when it was ‘with Covid.’ Other diseases were at play. Population of the province 5.1 million.
In May of this year the number of opioid deaths equates to over five per day, more than 150 for the Month. The Fraser Heath Authority had over 291 deaths from drug overdose so far this year.
And we are talking about 20 in the ages 1 to 39 for Covid since it began last year. And 118 from ages 1 to 59!
There are more deaths and heath harm from the lockdowns than from the virus itself with delayed surgeries, delayed specialist appointments, mental depression, suicides, etc. A Simon Fraser University Professor, Douglas W. Allen, has done a study demonstrating this.
On top of that you have a PCR test that is unreliable; even the inventor, the late Kary Mullus, confirmed this a few years ago. In BC where the cycle used in the test is 35 to 40 the false positive rate is 97%. A 3% reliability rate.
And numerous studies have shown that masks don’t work. Reviewing 37 studies the Swiss Policy Research Group has said: “So far, most studies found little to no evidence for the effectiveness of face masks in the general population, neither as personal protective equipment nor as a source control.”
Denmark with a population of 5.8 million has announced all Covid measures will be abolished by October 1. That is mask wearing, passports, all of it gone!
And not by edict of a few but by Parliament.
And our 5.1 million, no parliamentary review, just an edict by three, one of whom is unelected, violating the basic rights enshrined in the Constitution.
Some will say that the Constitution gives the Governments an out with “subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.”
Given the facts above the Government cannot demonstrably justify using this section – that’s why they have not even tried to justify it – their actions are an insult to our Constitutional principles.
And an assault on our rights and freedoms in a democratic society.

It's easy for politicians, they can spend what they want because somebody else will pay for it – the taxpayers.
Well done Merv & Marg
Nanaimo is still a good place, but the powers that be have let it run to ruin. This is sad to see.
i agree it is the volunteers in Nanaimo that make it such a wonderful place to live. I've lived all over B. C. and came back to Nanaimo to raise my kids and join the family business. Never any regret
Thank you Mr. Peckford for voicing concerns that many Canadians share, but remain silent.
